EL CAMINO DOES NICARAGUA

Since launching in July, Nicaragua has been on our mind. We spent all summer and early fall planning for this major milestone. We crafted an eight night, nine day adventure full of activities that highlighted three cities; San Juan Del Sur, Granada, and Popoyo. Eleven travelers joined us in surfing the emerald coast, fishing like the locals, rolling cigars in colonial Granada, and taking in the views at Popoyo.

Here’s a look into our first four nights spent in San Juan Del Sur and nearby Maderas Beach. We stayed at Maderas Village which has you feeling like you are perched among the canopy in tree houses, sharing the branches with the very audible howler monkeys.

DAY 1 // #arrive #welcomedrink #explore

Travelers trickled in and had some time to settle in at Maderas Village.

DAY 2 // #tacolunch #surf #beach

Just a 5 minute walk from Maderas Village, we dined on arguably some of the best tacos around with our toes in the sand and then headed into the waves for our first surf lesson.

DAY 3 // #catamaran #swimming #champagne #beaches

We escaped land on a catamaran where we sailed to deserted beaches, swam to shore, snacked on ceviche, and sipped on champagne.

DAY 4 // #emeraldcoast #seafoodmarket #fishing

The morning started with heading to the seafood market to pick out dinner and then heading out into the ocean where we learned the local way to fish.

DAY 5 we packed up and headed to Granada. Stay tuned for location #2
