IT'S ALL IN THE FINE PRINT

Who Is This Trip For?

This trip is for the traveler who has an adventurous spirit, is looking to get a good chunk of rest and relaxation time in with tropical vibes, but also wants to experience the varied aspects of Nicaraguan culture. They care about making the world a better place through responsible tourism. This traveler is open minded, inherently curious, and enjoys indulging in the moment.

While El Camino Travel provides a high level of customer service, our traveler is someone who is easy-going and amenable to change in the diverse and unpredictable landscape of travel in Latin America.

This trip is also for a solo traveler who does not want to travel solo, but instead with an interesting group of people and for those who do not want to spend 8+ hours planning a trip of a lifetime.

Note on the photography component: We provide a group photographer so that our travelers can go back to being present in the moment rather than worrying about capturing the moment. They are the photographer for the whole group and not a personal photographer to each individual traveler. We provide our travelers with dynamic and candid images throughout the trip so that they can share with their friends and family in real time. While this is an important element that adds to the unique experience of our trips, it is not the focus of our trip. Our travelers are excited about receiving stunning images each morning, but the act of travel and indulging in the moment is what they value most.

Basic Information

Join El Camino Travel on a trek that crisscrosses the country’s Pacific coastline. This adventure includes surfing, catamaran tours of secluded beaches, fishing with locals, the art of cigar rolling, yoga, and wandering local artisan markets.

Leave your selfie stick at home. All tours include a group photographer who will provide you with 20 dynamic and compelling images of the group on a daily basis, that you can immediately share to your social media.

Accommodations

Because we are obsessed with the details and experience this trip will only include six SHARED ROOMS. The reasoning for this is probably more complicated than you care to know, so we will just leave it at that. You can share a room with a friend, lover, platonic lover, someone you met on TINDER, or whoever else, but unfortunately all rooms must be shared. If you do not bring a partner in crime along, you must be comfortable sharing a room with another traveler in the group of the same sex. More details of the hotels will be shared upon purchase of the trip, but we promise we chose these locations because we love them with all our heart and soul and think they pass the El Camino standard of travel with flying colors.

WORD OF MOUTH FROM PAST TRAVELERS

"The towns we visited in Nicaragua were welcoming, vibrant, and alluring. Traveling with El Camino felt like I was visiting a friend who already knew the intriguing things to do and see.   The trip was a superb mix of adventure and relaxation. I keep coming back to the day spent in San Juan Del Sur where we boarded the catamaran.  I loved the relaxed feel of this colorful little surf town!  I can still taste the fresh ceviche and mai tai's we enjoyed while voyaging down the scenic coastline to a private beach. " - Nikki H.

"El Camino is an incredible way to travel. I am not usually one for group travel, but this is different: the destinations are thoughtful, the attention to detail was incredible, and the people are fun and inspiring. We explored Nicaragua in the way that would've been if I had planned the whole thing, but this time, I didn't have to do any of the work and research. It was so easy. Plus, we had a professional photographer with us! What a nice change to be able to live in the moment instead of worrying where my camera is all the time. Sign me up for the next trip. And the next, and the next..." - Addette C.

"I signed up for this trip without knowing anyone else in the group and I'll admit I was nervous!  But even before I'd left I knew it was going to be a great time because of El Camino's thorough planning and pre-trip communication.  As soon as we arrived the whole crew met and bonded instantly, thanks largely to the family dinners and activities right away on day one.  And have you seen the pictures?!  Keeping my camera phone in my pocket on this trip was the best decision I've made!" - Drew S.

"This trip was amazing! A boutique travel experience at a very reasonable price. Each location felt like it was designed specifically for our group, and the two owners made sure that we were able to enjoy every minute of it. All of this and there is virtually no work involved in planning the trip!" - Kiel S.

"Having traveled once with El Camino, I am now sad that they can't take me everywhere I go always. I don't think I could have appreciated the level of planning detail the El Camino team puts into their trips until I was in country enjoying all of the thoughtful experiences they had put together for us. I am normally wary of group travel (because personalities), but the kinds of travelers who flock to El Camino are decidedly our people. In fact, the trip itself was such a joy that sometimes I forget the original reason we signed up was to have beautiful photos of the experience after the fact; that is until, I realize I can share our trip with friends and family at the click of a button. In short: rarely a month or two goes by that my husband and I don't think wistfully of our El Camino trip and wonder when we'll get to go back again." - Maddie E.
