Who Is This Trip For?

This trip is for the traveler who is looking for serious adventure and nature type activities, still wants to understand and be immersed in the local culture, likes to dance and get down (aka wine + lime + dine), and cares about making the world a better place through responsible tourism. This traveler is open minded, inherently curious, and enjoys indulging in the moment.  While El Camino Travel provides a high level of customer service, our traveler is someone who is easy-going and amenable to change in the diverse and unpredictable landscape of travel in Latin America.

This trip is also for a solo traveler who does not want to travel solo, but instead with an interesting group of people and for those who do not want to spend 8+ hours planning a trip of a lifetime.

Note on the photography component: We provide a group photographer so that our travelers can go back to being present in the moment rather than worrying about capturing the moment. They are the photographer for the whole group and not a personal photographer to each individual traveler. We provide our travelers with dynamic and candid images throughout the trip so that they can share with their friends and family in real time. While this is an important element that adds to the unique experience of our trips, it is not the focus of our trip. Our travelers are excited about receiving stunning images each morning, but the act of travel and indulging in the moment is what they value most.

Basic Info

Join El Camino Travel on an adventure that explores the vibrant and diverse culture of the Caribbean Islands of Trinidad and Tobago. This adventure includes boat rides to crystal clear reef pools, giant leather back turtles, bbq beach hangs, hikes to jungle waterfalls, and heavily indulging in the unique cuisine that is influenced by East Indian culture. There is nowhere in the world like it.

Leave your selfie stick at home. All tours include a group photographer who will provide you with 20 dynamic and compelling images of the group on a daily basis, that you can immediately share with your social media.

Travelers need to arrive to Piarco International Airport before early afternoon on day one. We will be taking a 24 minute domestic flight from Trinidad to the island of Tobago on that same day.

Accommodations

Because we are obsessed with the details and experience this trip will only include seven SHARED ROOMS. The reasoning for this is probably more complicated than you care to know, so we will just leave it at that. You can share a room with a friend, lover, platonic lover, someone you met on TINDER, or whoever else, but unfortunately all rooms must be shared. If you do not have a partner in crime, you must be comfortable sharing a room with another traveler in the group of the same gender. More details of the hotels will be shared upon purchase of the trip, but we promise we chose these locations because we love them with all our heart and soul and think they pass the El Camino standard of travel with flying colors.

Pricing & Payment

The trip is $2900 per person during early sign up. After early sign up, the price increases to $3150 per person. To guarantee your reservation, you can pay your deposit HERE. A 40% deposit is due at the time of booking. Final payment is due no later than 25 days prior to departure. WORD OF MOUTH FROM PAST TRAVELERS

"I think Trinidad and Tobago are the perfect example of why I love things that are quietly awesome. Because I didn't know all that much about Trinitobago going into the trip, everything I discovered was a beautiful surprise, and I found myself surprised but delighted that they weren't marketing themselves the way other islands do. This led to an experience that felt under-the-radar and unique in a way that my generation favors--we want to feel like we're "first to" a place or have insider knowledge others don't. I also liked that I'm not necessarily going to run into people like my parents while vacationing there, because though I love them, they are a totally different type of tourist than I am!" Erin B.

"When arriving in Trinidad and Tobago with El Camino, it was like landing in a dream and witnessing the best kept secret. Beyond the unbelievably stunning surroundings of mango trees, wild hummingbirds, and clear blue waters, El Camino provided the most unique and fluid experience. Wherever we stayed, it was off the beaten path, and the genuine warmth from every local was overwhelming in the best way. Our days consisted of beautifully curated itineraries; everything from boating to a private beach where lunch was prepared, to hiking through the jungle to a giant waterfall. We explored local markets, took a cooking class, and saw giant leatherback turtles nesting on the beach in front of our hotel. Our entire crew came together effortlessly and I felt like El Camino didn't skip a beat when it came to showing off everything the culture had to offer. To feel like a authentic traveler and indulge in the unexpected makes me feel like I lived this week in paradise to the absolute fullest. " Arielle V.

Everything that El Camino coordinates for you and your fellow travelers is geared toward ensuring that you have as immersive and memorable a travel experience as you possibly can. In fact, I can say with confidence that of all the places I have traveled to, I feel most connected to the culture and people of Trinidad and Tobago. "El Camino curated an unforgettable experience that introduced me to the culture, people & cuisine of Trinidad & Tobago in ways few can. My days were filled with tastes, sounds, sights & conversations that taught me what I couldn't have learned or been exposed to on a self-planned trip."  Randi G.

"Over the years, I've learned that commercial tours, and prepackaged trips never appealed to me. I crave authentic, off the beaten path experiences, which is why I've always opted for solo travel. As rewarding as it is to be a solo female traveler, I had to confront the trade-offs and limitations of traveling on my own. My trip to Trinidad and Tobago with El Camino, however, made me reconsider. Thanks to El Camino, I no longer had to choose between authentic experiences, and the benefits of traveling with a group - I could have both! When I signed up, the primary appeal was that it saved me hours and hours of research and trip planning that would have taken me weeks to prepare on my own. I was nervous about traveling with a group, but I connected with the others in the group in a way that exceed any and all expectations! I couldn't have asked for a better group, or trip leader. Also, have you seen the pictures?! I knew having a photographer would be an extra perk, but Emma's talent was more than anything I could ask for. There is something to say about her ability to capture moments that shared the authentic feel of the country and culture while capturing the individuality of the personalities on the trip. Let me repeat, have you seen the pictures?!" Vanessa S.
