As you may know, El Camino Travel offers a unique trip experience with the help of travel photographers that join our groups on their adventures and document the best and brightest moments so you can enjoy your destination to the fullest. It's a unique job that can only be done by unique people. With the right amount of determination, wanderlust, and skill set, you have the ideal El Camino Travel photographer.

Outside of their photography, our travel photographers are very dynamic and interesting people we'd like the El Camino Travel community to get to know better. So meet Erinn Springer! She's traveled to Nicaragua with us before, but don't think that's the only place she's been. In fact, to document where she's been, she collects vials of air from each destination.

Erinn is fortunate to have an international network of good friends that she can visit and explore new destinations with like a local, since she's almost always hanging out with one. When she wants to go somewhere, she just thinks in terms of which friends she wants to visit. She's been sharing her travel and friend-making experiences with us and sometimes it plays into her photography world as well. Like the time she went to Greece, and also shot her first wedding (?!?!)

It was the year I was studying abroad in Paris and I just happened to be at the right place at the right time. I was sight-seeing in Montmartre and i just happened to see these two people get engaged. I took a picture with my iphone and approached them afterwords to congratulate them and send them the photo... 6 months later, still strangers who met for 5 minutes in Paris, they sent me an invite to their ceremony in Greece. Of course I went (!!) and since then, we’ve become great friends and they even came to New York for their honeymoon! It was such a random encounter and serendipitous story of friendship across the globe. All because of a chance encounter and a classic iPhone pic one day in Montmarte, Paris.

We're so glad to have Erinn on our team so her stories to tell will grow with us at El Camino. She really understands the value of experience, so she understands our value as a company.

If you came upon this post because of our instagram, then you probably recognize the following photo, but not the story behind it. Erinn relates:

springer12.jpeg
Sahara Desert, Merzouga, Morocco // The summer prior to Morocco, my friend Samm (pictured above) and I met two great guys while hitchhiking along the coast of Turkey (don’t try this at home). We kept in touch and planned to meet in the middle for a reunion road-trip around Morocco. We took a 10-day drive from Casablanca to Chefchaouen to Fes to Merzouga to Marrakech. This photo is so symbolic for me because it was taken a couple days after we had been trapped in a snowstorm in the Atlas Mountains. Poor timing through a mountain pass left us stranded in a white-out blizzard — our car was completely encased in ice until a military squad rescued us after 15 hours of snow and silence. There’s so much more to the story, but... Morocco is a land of contrasts and we couldn’t believe all that we had seen and experienced in such a short period of time. So, here we are, just dancin’ in the desert, as one does post-Atlas evacuation.....Not your typical Spring Break, I’d say.

Some of Erinn's favorite things are running, grocery shopping (espcially from destination to destination), being outside in general, studying maps, aquatic meerkats (her spirit animal), and sparkles.
