There is no other trip like a trip planned by the El Camino team. I often travel alone because of my work schedule so I am familiar with group travel experiences. However, traveling to Colombia with El Camino was by far the best group travel experience because it didn’t feel like I was traveling in a large group going from one activity to the next without absorbing it. Rather it felt like I was spending my days with my closest friends and getting to know the ins and outs of a new city. Each day is filled with unique experiences, interesting people to meet and non-stop adventures. I can’t say enough positives…from our incredible host, to the detail-oriented activities, to the wonderful group who bonded over Latin music and dancing on a chiva bus and the amazing photography a la Erin Springer that allowed to us be in the moment. If you’re nervous to travel alone, just go, go, go on an El Camino tour – you won’t be disappointed. I had so much on this trip that I signed up for another El Camino trip just a few weeks later.
If you want to experience a country you'd never go yourself, to be immersed in both leisure and culture experiences that would have been impossible to navigate and plan on your own, go to Colombia with El Camino. It's the perfect mix of education and vacation; of understanding and enjoyment; of going deeper and having so much fun. Don't be scared to go alone — El Camino attracts some of the coolest humans who want to experience the world together. Go, go, go!
Searching for my next travel adventure it was kismet that I landed on El Camino’s Instagram page. El Camino is a must for every travel enthusiasts! With our talented photographer in tow, I thoroughly enjoyed the freedom of not having to worry about photographing every moment of my trip. I loved the anticipation of new images every morning, which gave the opportunity to relive the previous days adventures. The Cartagena itinerary was impressive and while there were structured activities, I never felt overwhelmed and had many opportunities to go off on my own. From a mud bath in a volcano, a private cooking lesson with a local chef, and even a full day of fun in the sun on our private island, El Camino Travel has now become the standard by which all my other package trips will be measured.

We have been lucky enough to travel all over the world but nothing has ever felt as immersive or authentic as our experience with El Camino. We came away from this trip feeling changed for the better, the people and places we were introduced to were nothing short of spectacular and I know this was not something we could have ever put together ourselves. El Camino is so great at opening our hearts and eyes to so much of the world in an incredibly unique and incomparable way.
I thoroughly enjoyed my El Camino Travel experience. Traveling can be a bit daunting these days as far as planning which is why I value the service El Camino offers. I literally just show up and this wonderful journey filled with adventure & culture is planned and prepared for me. It's a priceless experience. An experience I'll never forget and will most definitely do again.
The El Camino experience is different from any other trip because the people you meet are essential to telling the story of the place and its culture. You want to get to know Trinidad and Tobago or Colombia or Mexico City in a more meaningful way? You meet its people and engage with them and their craft. That's the El Camino experience no one else can match.
Our trip to Colombia with El Camino was the first time we’d ever done a group experience. Frankly, what appealed to my husband and I were the unique experiences lined up for each day, the small-size group and the luxury of not having to plan the trip ourselves. We emailed in advance to find out the average age of folks who had participated on previous trips, only to find out that, generally, they were about twenty years younger than us…never mind, we thought, this could be fun! We absolutely loved our experience. I can’t say enough good about it…from the great communication leading up to the trip, to the care and thought that went into every activity, to the wonderful group who bonded over mud baths and dancing lessons and the amazing photography (Kate, you’re amazing) that captured every minute. Go, go, go on an El Camino tour – you won’t be disappointed. In fact, I think they’ve spoiled us for any other type of travel!
We had a wonderful time in Colombia last year with El Camino Travel. It was like no other trip we ever took - there were no museum, no cathedrals, no 'tours' ... And that was AWESOME.
A perfectly curated experience of authentic culture, social impact, and food we are still dreaming about. I have shared with many since our travels about our visit with Casa Kolacho in Medellin, or the dance company in Cartagena, the family run coffee plantation, the flower farm run by a progressive Latino man who thought domestic violence had no place in his community...
El Camino was amazing - a really fun tour. Like no other. And the pictures? That was just the cherry on the cake. If you can, GO!
The El Camino experience left me feeling energized and with hope that there are like minded travelers who want to experience rather than visit, are unafraid to open their minds, test their assumptions, and be forever changed when they get home.
