I think Trinidad and Tobago are the perfect example of why I love things that are quietly awesome. Because I didn't know all that much about Trinitobago going into the trip, everything I discovered was a beautiful surprise, and I found myself surprised but delighted that they weren't marketing themselves the way other islands do. This led to an experience that felt under-the-radar and unique in a way that my generation favors--we want to feel like we're "first to" a place or have insider knowledge others don't. I also liked that I'm not necessarily going to run into people like my parents while vacationing there, because though I love them, they are a totally different type of tourist than I am!
