Ana Lucía & Laura Isabel - Founders of Clemente on the tropical paradise of Panama

Field Notes are firsthand travel recommendations for and/or by our ECT community, where we share the lowdown on destinations across the globe from travelers and locals alike. This week, sisters and Clemente cofounders, Ana and Laura share their recommendations for Panama. See more in the Clubhouse.

The Hidden Gems of our Tropical Paradise

Hola! We are Ana Lucía & Laura Isabel, two Panamanian sisters living abroad in Manhattan, NY and Savannah, GA respectively. We co-founded Clemente (follow us on Instagram!!), a lifestyle brand that specializes in transforming signature paintings into fashion and home pieces. As designers by profession, and travel planners by heart - we are joining this community to share the hidden gems of our tropical paradise - PANAMA!

Where cosmopolitan meets colonial. Panama has a flair of its own - characterized by its welcoming people, rich folklore, endless beaches, colonial plazas, modern skyscrapers, sophisticated gastronomy, and a (very) vibrant nightlife. As more of you lay eyes on Panama, we invite you to take note of our favorite picks to do, eat, drink, visit & shop!

P.S. scroll through to find some outfit inspo wearing our pieces! Curated by local stylists Dos a La Moda, who can help you pack your Panama wardrobe. Contact them here.

Azafrán: Visit for a Spanish-Panamanian lunch. You will literally want to order the whole menu, and the place will feel like you're in a grandmother's cozy cabin.

Makoto: Get a table here for a lively Japanese dinner on the best rooftop terrace of the city (make sure to book outdoors)!

Wear

Shop this scarf and wear it as a top! It's our "Rojo Coral" scarf

Shop the "Postcards from Panama" T-shirt + reversible twilly.

Drink - Cocktails & Coffee

La Milagrosa: For a spicy margarita & tacos combo.

Do -

Biomuseo: Come to learn about the wonders of Panamanian flora & fauna, and stay to appreciate the architectural landmark and alluring gardens designed by Frank Gehry. Our brand has shot two of the collection campaigns at this iconic location. And - fun fact, our creative director (Laura Isabel) interned with Frank Gehry's firm in LA - so it has a special place in our hearts!
